Scholarship Application – Is Open for 2012 until April 16th

The SCVAA is pleased to present this application for the 2011-2012 SCVAA Scholarship.Each applicant can receive $1500.00 towards their college education. The SCVAA will award (4) scholarships.

This will be to open to students who meet one of the following criteria :

• A girl or boy college-bound senior from one of our local High Schools
• A girl or boy college-bound senior, that no longer resides within the district
• A girl or boy college-bound senior that attends a private school, but otherwise meets all other requirements, particularly having a history as a student athlete within SCVAA.
• A girl or boy college-bound senior that is home-schooled, but otherwise meets all other requirements, particularly having a history as a student athlete within SCVAA.

The requirements are as follows:

1. Must have participated at least three years (3) in one or all of the following sports within the SCVAA:

a. Track & Field – Running (East) & Lightning Warriors (West)

b. Cross Country – Running Warriors XC (East) & Warrior XC (West)

c. Football – Warriors

2. A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0

3. Each applicant must complete a minimum 125-word and a maximum of 250-word essay describing his or her experience in the SCVAA . Also include why you feel you need and should be rewarded this scholarship. Please attach your essay on the reverse side of this application.

4. The SCVAA Executive Board will vote on (4) student / athletes

Deadline

All essay and applications must be post marked by APRIL 16, 2012 NO EXCEPTIONS.
